Lee, Rustad Compete at State

Emma Lee and Luke Rustad competed at the Minnesota State Nordic ski meet on Saturday, representing Como Park in fine fashion.

Lee took 36th in the pursuit, besting all of her conference rivals, and improving greatly on last year's 63rd place finish. After the classic race, Lee was in 52nd place. She maneuvered through an extremely crowded field into the top 40.

Rustad took 108th place. He was hampered by a fall in the classic race, but competed well in an extremely tough field. Both Rustad and Lee's parents were on hand to see their children compete on the highest stage in Minnesota High School sports. Congrats to both Luke and Emma!

A little history...

Two years ago, Andy Brown was the first Como Park athlete to compete at the State Nordic Ski Meet. Last year, Emma Lee was the first Como Park girl to compete. This year, we had multiple athletes qualify for the first time ever. With a strong group of junior and sophomore girls returning from a 3rd place section team, and a developing group of sophomore and freshman boys, the Como Park Nordic team looks for these trends to continue.
