The Como Park Cross Country team will have a meeting on Tuesday, June 2 for those interested in running next fall. The meeting will be held immediately after school in the Como Park Senior High cafeteria. Topics covered will include summer training, captain's practices, and next year's schedule.

Lee Runs School Record 3200
At Friday's Edina Invitational, senior Emma Lee established a new school record of 11:32.69 in the 3200M run, bettering her previous personal best by over twenty seconds.
Conditions were breezy and increasingly cool as the sun set on the Edina track. A strong field of 18 runners toed the line.
Pulled out at a blistering opening pace -- 80 seconds for 400, 2:45 for the 800 -- Lee settled into third place behind defending state 3200M Cassy Opitz of Eden Prairie and Michelle Volz of Lakeville North, whose accolades include a state championship at 1600M in 2007.
Mid-way through the race, Lee moved into second in order to maintain her tempo, gapping Volz. She held the runner-up position through the finish. The record marks Lee's second school record at Como Park, the other being in cross country.

Next up for the Cougars is the St. Paul City Conference Relays Meet, which will be held at St. Paul Central on Thursday, May 7.
