Excellent Conference Meet for Cougars

Boys 2nd; Girls 3rd

The Como Park XC teams performed exceptionally well at the St. Paul City Conference meet on Tuesday.

The girls team rebounded from mid-season setbacks to run strong for a 3rd place finish in the team competition, matching last year's result. Leah Roth secured All-Conference status for the second year in a row, while Jane Kramer and Rachel Lee earned honorable mention All-Conference honors.

On the boys side, Central captured 6 of the top 10 places, leaving Como and Highland to battle for second place. Big PRs by senior Evan Vogel (17:20) and Nate Rue (18:11) earned both All-Conference honors and helped secure a win over Highland. The 2nd place finish ties the best finish at Conference in school history. The 1981 boys team also took second.

Rue's time marks the fastest run by a Como freshman in recent history. Solid runs by senior Luke Rustad and sophomore Evan Hanson earned them honorable mention All-Conference honors.

The JV boys were led by strong finishes from Maurice Martinez, Henry Cole, Lia Yang, and Richard Konkol.

Lee defends individual title.

Senior Emma Lee toed the line for the first time since injury sidelined her over a month ago. She successfully returned to action, not only claiming All-Conference honors, but also defending her conference title. She clocked a speedy 15:39, the fastest time run at the Conference Meet since 2002.

Anderson sets school record.

Senior Ross Anderson battled hard to capture 5th place and All-Conference honors. The competition spurred him under Roberto Caballero's school record of 17:02 and under the 17 minute mark. His 16:57 run was an 8 second PR.

Congratulations to the whole team on a great meet!
